One of the key subjects of the Sample Purchase show (the First Channel) aired on December 21 was infusing puerh in a tea-and-coffee siphon in Moscow restaurant El Parador. The demonstration itself and the comments on infusing the tea in the siphon and its serving in our transparent tea-bowls were provided by the chef of this restaurant, Aleksey Markovsky.

Siphon-served tea, in the last couple of years, has become a real icon of fine-dining restaurant tea service. A dynamic service and splendid tea met standards of tea-lovers in many a place and a restaurant of Russia.

Dec 23, 2007. Ivanovo — a New Spot on Our Tea Carte

In fall/winter 2007, the Taiwanese tea carte made it to the menu of one of the most prestigious establishments of Ivanovo — Café No. 1.  Ginseng Oolong, Golden Blossom with Milk Scent, Oolong from the Pear’s Mountain, Buddha’s Palm red tea and Puerh are served in Café No. 1 in a tea-and-coffee siphon, and the lotus Flower-Bud of Formosa is infused in a conventional teapot.

Tea service in Café No. 1 was organized by our colleagues and partners from Kostroma. The refined Taiwanese teas perfectly blend in the European cuisine and the luxury style of the establishment. We hope that both our tea and our concept of its serving will accommodate the pickiest tastes of Café No. 1 guests.

On the menu of Moscow’s sole true Spanish steak-house — El Parador restaurant — a New Year’s Eve update appeared. The restaurant’s chef — Aleksey Markovsky, a member to the Russian Chef Guild — offers El Parador’s guests to try Lubina Chilena ahumado: the Chilean seabass, mildly smoked in turquoise tea, with Oriental couscous and candied pumpkin.

In smoking of fish and meat, tea has been used for quite a while already, yet the idea to cook sea bass with turquoise tea (Green-Jade Oolong) came namely to El Parador’s chef. Aleksey Markovsky has been experimenting with tea in the cooking process for a long time, and his new find met vast appreciation among the guests of the restaurant, perfectly blended in with the traditional Spanish cuisine of El Parador and beautifully rhymed to its Taiwanese tea carte.

We hope the Chilean sea bass opens a new tea and culinary page in El Parador’s menu.

Our company’s assortment expanded to embrace a new tea — Honey Red (Mi Xian Hong Cha).

Honey Red (black by European standards) tea is produced in the south-eastern Taiwan — the most environmentally pure part of the island. There are no large industries and the perfect wind diagram — the air comes directly from the Pacific, bypassing Japan and China with their environmental problems.

Honey Red Tea is made of tea leaves, whose skin has been pierced by green-winged cicadas. This makes the tea juice coat the leaves’ surface, yielding to them through processing the absolutely incredible taste and fragrance — very particular honey tones.

This tea will accommodate tastes of those who love refined and exquisite red (black) teas. Serving Taiwanese tea in Kanpai restaurant

On December 4 to 6, in Kazan a training course for business owners, top managers and HoReCa sector staff, organized by the Association of Restaurateurs and Hoteliers jointly with the City Council of Kazan, was held. The course included a report of the first deputy General Director of PLC RISE (Entertainment Complex Riviera), Raphael Safin, titled 'Tea market Analysis. Tea Carte Compilation. Peculiarities of water preparation and tea brewing', developed with consideration to the experience and our company expert recommendations and targeted at the Taiwanese tea offer - as the most adequate in meeting modern restaurant requirements.

The familiarization of tea lovers and connoisseurs with the tea of Taiwan started in 2004 - this was when the Turquoise Tea first appeared in the tea carte of Kanpai restaurant, located in Yamashev Street (by the way, this is the Kanpai that became the best Russian restaurant serving Taiwanese tea in 2006). The Taiwanese oolongs, red, matured and exotic teas hit the tastes of good tea lovers - and when the second Kanpai opened in Pavlyukhina Street, the Taiwanese tea carte became as natural an element to it, as their specialties and the refined Oriental interior. We hope that the tea of Taiwan will occupy an honorable place in the third Kanpai as well, which is about to open its doors very soon.

In 2006, in Tatarsan's capital Entertainment Complex Riviera was opened to incorporate several respectable restaurants altogether: Panorama, Tokyo and Caravella. These restaurants became siphon trend setters in Kazan - serving matured tea in the tea-and-coffee siphon and preparing tea blends before the guests' eyes - these developments of our company's experts caught fancy with the guests of Riviera restaurants, and the tea flamb? laid basis for restaurant tea service.

Almost two years ago, in January 2006, our Turquoise Tea first appeared on the menu of the café based in Lexus — Levoberezhny Dealer Center. And in a short while we acquired a special ’tea-car partner’ — reliable and caring of tea quality: Inoti Company. It turned out that the inevitable pauses occurring in the course of purchasing, registration or servicing cars tend to get filled by the car owners drinking tea. That is, drinking good tea.

The same year we started to cooperate with the restaurant located in another dealer center: Toyota — Rublyovka (74 Rublyovskoye shosse) — thus the owners of the cars of yet another globally famous brand gained an opportunity to drink good tea.

Oct 20, 2007. PIR 2007: new findings, new partners, new perspectives

From the 3rd to the 6th of October, experts of the «Turquoise Tea» group of companies worked at the exhibition PIR 2007. There they were introducing to guests of the exhibition different tea solutions for hotels, cafes, restaurants, clubs, and retail trade.

Our concept of «Turn-key tea-drinking» rose traditionally high interest of professionals. Tea sweets (dried fruit and vegetables), the new assortment of which was offered both for HoReCa and retail trade, were a huge success.

With great pleasure our visitors tried Chin-Chin cooled teas, sports and healthful drinks. They attracted special attention of experts of the beauty industry. The service of Chin-Chin drinks at SPA and fitness centers may bring the level of these establishments onto new heights.

Our company has introduced to the Russian market a line of chilled teas (pure green tea, jasmine green tea without sugar, green tea with honey, green tea with passionfruit juice, Assam black tea, black tea with apple juice), healthful (Aloe Vera with honey, Peach Water with fiber and collagen) and sports drinks («Orange Power Bits» with collagen. «Apple Power Bits» for vegetarians) of the Taiwanese trade mark «Chin-Chin».

Jul 10, 2007. Taiwan Tea. General trends and individual prospects

June 21-24, in the course of a working trip to Taiwan, the general director of JSC «INTEX» Sergey Khorolsky took part in the work of the main Taiwanese exhibitions connected with food industry: Food Taipei, Taipei Pack and Foodtech Taipei, — and conducted a series of business meetings, which resulted in potential agreements with producers of packaging equipment, tea dainties, and tea, naturally.

Of especial importance were negotiations with one of the most skilful tea farmers of Central Taiwan who specializes in red and white tea production, which ended with the conclusion of a mutually beneficial contract. Specially for our company, his farm began pilot research work on producing high-quality red tea for European and, firstly, Russian market. Our joint efforts should result in a tea meant for people with a good conservative tea taste who do not strive to fit in contemporary tea trends, but want to drink tea of good quality.

Exhibitions and Tea Plantation

Besides, several new for us sorts of Taiwan tea, including The Empress tea (an interesting and «multi-flavor» organic tea) and oolong with ginseng chips were obtained for conducting testing by experts of our company.

Sergey Khorolsky's business talks and friendly meetings with numerous tea people in Taiwan let him make draw some conclusions on the trends in the Taiwanese tea industry, especially the part of it which will influence the Russian tea market.

First of all, ever more attention is paid to the production of organic tea in Taiwan.

Second, the Taiwanese authorities begin to actively resist counterfeit Taiwanese tea and introduce a program on the protection of authentic Taiwanese tea.

Third, there is a sustainable growth of interest towards high-quality red (black — according to European classification) tea in the island.

Forth, there is a serious increase in demand for high-quality Taiwanese tea in the USA and continental China (where, in fact, real Taiwanese tea comes mainly indirectly due to the protective policy of the Chinese authorities). Implicitly the growth of popularity of Taiwanese tea in these countries will also impact the Russian tea market, mainly — by the decrease of supply and increase of prices.

And, finally, fifth, the puerh rush, which has overtaken the world, did not skirt Taiwan — the prices for puerh in Taiwan grow very quickly

Final tea tasting

June, 7-8 «Simple Open. Siberia» Festival of Wine and Gastronomy was taking place in Novosibirsk. And however strange it may seem — our company bore a direct tea part in the event.

In the framework of the festival an open large-scale testing of more than 200 wines took place, master-classes on world winemaking were held, a regional try out for «the Best Russian Wine-taster» competition, a photo exhibition and other pleasant and very much cultural activities were organized. According to initial calculations, 1800 bottles of exquisite wine were opened and 300 liters of finest tea were drunk.

Our participation in the festival became possible through our collaboration with the «Simple» company (which had organized the Festival) and the efforts of our experts and the «Simple» company experts towards maximally profound integration of a tea menu and a wine carte in high-class restaurants.

At the «Simple Open. Siberia» «Simple» demonstrated what should be the alcoholic drinks for good restaurants. And we in our turn showed what tea should be at good restaurants.

During two days of the festival our stand was not left unattended for a minute. We were treating our guests with tea, explaining possible combined service of tea and alcohol, demonstrating various tea-ware and tea sweets, showing our informational materials to specialists.

Of course, the interest towards a tea stand at a wine festival could be expected. But a tremendous success of tea at a wine festival was a pleasant surprise for us and fully convinced us in the fact that good tea, as well as good wine, is an occupation for people with fine taste and a keen scent for real luxury.

Our tea journey into the world of wine concluded with a banquet at the best restaurant of the Western Siberia — «La Maison». At this banquet we had a chance to once again get convinced in good compatibility of the two noble drinks and in wonderful perspective of their mutual promotion at high-rate restaurants.

Tea seminar in Wine School

May 30, 2007. Tea seminar at «Enotria» Wine School

On the 24th of May, the experts of our company conducted the first seminar for the audience of the «Enotria» Wine School specialized regional course. «Enotria» Wine School is an official academic projectof the Russian Association of Sommeliers, it is the only school in Russia which received ASI (International Association of Sommeliers) accreditation. Enotria's official partner is the «Simple» company, which plays the leading role in the Russian wine market and offers the largest assortment of high-rate wines in Europe to its clients. We got acquainted with the «Simple» company at the «PIR 2006» exhibition. During the intensive and interesting communication we had very soon become convinced that our two companies have absolutely identical methods of the work with our clients, despite the fact that we work with rather different drinks. The outcome of the business and friendly contacts between the wine and tea companies was the decision about the cooperative educational activity in the framework of the regional course for the specialists of the on-trade sector, which was taking place May 22-26 at «Enotria» Wine School.

May 22, 2007. «Tea for all occasions»

A new tea course «Tea for all occasions» has appeared in the School of Culinary Art of the «Gastronome» magazine. The course comprises two parts: practical and theoretical. In the framework of the practical part of the course the audience learns what the tea bush is, the ways of collecting and producing tea, kinds of tea, and the competent consumer's attitude towards tea. The practical part will introduce people to the organization of home tea-drinking in different styles (English, Russian, Oriental, and Modern style) and will teach them to brew tea in different ways using different tea utensils. This course for the School of Culinary Art of the «Gastronome» magazine has been developed by the specialists of our company — in the collaboration with our partners from the «Tea-Express» internet-shop (Vyacheslav Akimov) and the «Tea» web-site (Denis Shumakov). The first tea class in the School of Culinary Art took place on the 23rd of May. It was conducted by Sergey Khorolsky — the director general of JSC «INTEX».

Presentation in Vladimir

May 16, 2007. «Tea Burrow»: Taiwan tea comes to Vladimir.

On the 10th and 11th of May, in Vladimir, in the VIP-hall of the «Monomach» hotel and at the «Audrey» caf&233;, presentations of the restaurant tea service developed by the experts of our company and promoted in Vladimir by our partners from the «Tea Burrow» (Kostroma) took place. The presentations were a success — we treated people with tasty tea, demonstrated all variants of the restaurant tea service that we use (including siphon, of course), and helped the guests to our tea sweets. The presentations were visited by restaurateurs, hoteliers, representatives of the Vladimir City Administration and other VIPs — fastidious and sophisticated people. We are very much pleased with their compliments to our tea. It was practically during the presentation that we concluded a contract on the supply of our tea and tea-ware with the «Monomach» hotel — during this week the hotel's personnel will receive tea training, and the next week our tea will be served in Vladimir.

May 15, 2007. «Turquoise Tea» in Novosibirsk.

At the very end of April, in Novosibirsk, at the «Seoul» restaurant, a series of presentations of Taiwan tea, tea sweets and the service of tea developed by our company took place. Within three days about 400 people (restaurateurs, hoteliers, representatives of tea companies, journalists, and simply tea lovers) learnt our variant of tea service. The participants of the degustation appraised our tea very high — so high that some of the restaurateurs present at the presentations expressed their intention to introduce our tea service at their restaurants. The interest to Taiwan tea in the city is growing, it is served at 9 restaurants by now, and in the nearest future it will appear in 11 more restaurants of Novosibirsk.

Since the 26th of March the teas of our company are served in one of the landmark places of Moscow — the «Vanilla» restaurant. There are no little things or secondary dishes and drinks at the «Vanilla». Everything that is served to the visitor's table should be of premium quality — because the «Vanilla» does not so much follow the standards of quality as create them. The service of tea did not become an exception. The new tea menu of the restaurant includes classical Taiwanese oolong teas, oolongs with different scents, rare red (black) teas, and, of course, pu-erh — the only Chinese exception in the fully Taiwanese tea menu and one of the most popular teas nowadays.

Mar 05, 2007. The «Tea Burrow» Opened in Kostroma

Several days ago, an establishment, which can be rightfully considered the centre of tea culture, opened in Kostroma. Under the roof of an old building a small tea shop, which offers to visitors a selection of Taiwanese teas, tea-ware and tea-sweets, and a small and very cozy tasting-room are housed in. As well as in any decent tea shop, in the «Tea Burrow» one can try tea right in the display area. Moreover, the format of the display area allows for presentations and master-classes for tea-sommeliers to be held on its basis. Naturally, all tea, tea-ware, and tea-sweets are supplied to this place by our company.

Mar 05, 2007. The Prize Drawing has Taken Place

On March 3, in Moscow, at the «Argument» restaurant, the ceremony of prize drawing among the winners of the panel game on Taiwanese tea took place. The game was organized by the «Gastronome» magazine, the «Tea» internet site, and the «Tea-express» internet-shop (under the auspices of our company). The prize drawing and awarding turned out very cozy and nice — a small company was drinking tea and having talks about tea in a homelike restaurant. Our experts demonstrated all Taiwanese tea-ware which was among the prizes at work and gave all the guests excellent tea. The prizes were gained by Valentina Elnikova (Moscow, the 3rd prize), Elena Shatalova (Vladivostok, the 2nd prize) and Konstantin Burnosov (Vladivostok, the 1st prize). All guests of the ceremony received encouragement prizes from the «Tea-express» shop (tasty Taiwanese tea) and from our company (Easy Pot tea-masters).

February 15, in Kostroma, in the «Palermo» restaurant (one of the most prestigious establishments in the city) the first and solemn service of our company’s tea took place. The most astonishing (and very pleasant for us) thing in this fact is that the administration and staff of the «Palermo» had got acquainted with our tea service only a week before the tea started to be served in their restaurant. It happened on the 8th of February when the official Representation of our company for the Kostroma, Yaroslavl, Vladimir and Ivanovsk regions was opened in Kostroma. Our partner in this area is «Edelweiss» Limited liability Company (Simanovskogo str., 10, Kostroma, 156000). Both our tea and the variants of serving it hit fancy of most guests of the presentation. Knowledgeable restaurateurs appreciated new possibilities and prospects for restaurant business — and decided not to put off the introduction of our tea into their menu.

Feb 15, 2007. Taiwan Tea on the «Day of Health»

February 10, at the «Katok.ru» sports and entertainment complex (Rublevo-Uspenskoye road, Gorki village-2) winter festivity named «Day of Health on Rublyovka» took place. «INTEX» JSC, together with the «Tea-Express» internet-shop, took part in this event in an immediate «tea» way. During the Day we treated about 150 people with our tea — the best choice for the frosty winter air was «Golden Flower with Milk Scent» — our guests drank it more than all other teas. Besides, in our pavilion, one could try Ginseng Oolong, Oolong with Rose petals and Red (black) Buddha Hand tea. We also served lavender and rose prunes along with our tea.

Jan 9, 2007. On-line shop 'Tea Express'

Meeting the numerous wishes of our clients, we granted the on-line shop 'Tea Express' the right of realization of our whole assortment (tea, tea-ware, tea dainties). The shop began operating at the very end of 2006. At the present day its services are available for citizens of Moscow and the Moscow region.
