The selection process took more than 50 years. The first pilot lot was produced in Simmer 2003, on the occasion of the centenary of the foundation of the Taiwan Tea Research & Extension Station. Specialists, who estimated the quality of «Ruby Tea» noted its unique «Taiwan Flavor» and recognized it a separate sort even among the whole variety of red (black) teas cultivated in the world.
The tea goes well with sweet desserts.
