One of the rarest and best-quality teas in Taiwan, Lishan Oolong grows at a height of more than 2,000 meters above sea level. Several decades ago at the Lishan mountainsides pear and apple orchards were laid out; later, they were replaced with tea gardens. First tea bushes grew right under fruit trees. Teas from this region are among the most expensive in Taiwan. Some of the teas plucked at this mountain on behalf of the President of Taiwan are presented to official delegations as a «specialty of the island». Therefore Lishan oolong is often referred to as «President Tea».

The tea is ideal for «tea-drinking for the sake of tea-drinking», when tea becomes not only a tasty and fragrant drink but also a way to exquisitely enjoy oneself — to experience pleasure from the beauty of the drink, the shape of its leaves, the variability of the taste and flavor, and their subtle, barely perceptible nuances. Lishan oolong should not be served with spicy food — it may suppress the tea's taste and flavor. Because of its unique quality, Lishan oolong may be served at any time of the day. It is a very lucid oolong — one always wants to smile when drinking it...
